GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for bar set-up, mixing of drinks, service and clean-up for catering bar functions while ensuring that the Banquet Standards for Service Excellence are upheld at all times.


JOB DESCRIPTION:


  • Check with Captain for required setup and type of service assignment.
  • Prepare and serve drinks per Marriott standards, policies and procedures.
  • Perform cashier duties, if required. This involves handling tickets and cashier Marriott hotel food and beverage SOP.
  • Follow 'Clean as you go' policy in all work performed.
  • Breakdown and thoroughly clean the bar after function is over.
  • Notify Captain or Banquet Manager of any needed repairs on the equipment you use.
  • Report all guest/Host accidents immediately to the most easily accessible manager.
  • Follow all local/division energy conservation and accident/loss prevention guidelines.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor or a manager.
  • Adhere to all division and local standard policies and procedures.
  • Perform all guest contact activities in a cordial, efficient and professional manner at all times, maintaining a commitment to guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a cooperative, teamlike attitude in working with supervisors and fellow Hosts (both within the department and in other hotel departments), to help achieve the hotel's common goals of maximizing guest satisfaction and profit margins.
  • Maintain a positive attitude toward the hotel and job being performed.
  • Report to work on time (as scheduled) and in proper uniform/attire.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:_

Ø 1 year previous bartending & serving experience in a hotel or similar environment required.

Ø Previous customer service experience preferred.

Ø Smart Serve Certification required.

Ø Certificate in mixology.

Ø Excellent communication skills in both official languages (English & French) preferred.

Ø Superior Service Excellence skills to exceed guest expectations.

Ø Excellent planning & organizational skills.

Ø Strong attention to detail.

Ø Able to perform physically demanding duties (standing, lifting, walking).

Ø Must be available to work a flexible schedule (days, evenings, weekends and holidays).
