Description

The Student Site Coordinator isresponsible for overseeing the full programming at their assigned site(s) which includes the planning, organization and supervision of all waterfront and swim instruction programs and day camp program and activities.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Provides direction and supervision to lifeguards, instructors, assistant instructors, counsellors, and volunteers at assigned site(s).
  • Ensures the safety of all participants in the programs.
  • Develops, administers, evaluates, and adjusts programming for day camp and swim instruction.
  • May assist the Recreation Manager, Supervisor and Swim/Camp Program Coordinator with the selection and hiring of staff.
  • Monitors attendance, punctuality and work habits of staff and coaches and/or documents as needed.
  • Completes daily log sheets, equipment inspections and first aid kit check list.
  • Deals with any problems to the best of their ability and directs more challenging problems to the Swim/Camp Program Coordinator.
  • Oversees and directs facility maintenance and beach cleanup.
  • Completes Incident Reports as required.
  • Complies with The Township of South Frontenac policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
  • Completes additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:


  • Must have been attending school in 202
  • Must be at least 17 years of age.
  • Must have current certification in the following:
  • Swim Instructor Course Certification.
  • NLS Certification is an asset.
  • Standard First with CPR-C.
  • Must have valid G Class Driver's License, and vehicle to attend site(s).
  • Leadership and public relations skills.
  • Communication skills.
  • Decisionmaking skills.
  • Current Criminal Record Check is required.
  • Vulnerable Sector check for individuals 18 years or older

Work Environment:


  • This role is based outdoors. In the event of severe rain/thunderstorms, duties will be performed indoors. The incumbent must be adaptable in adjusting to extreme heat and weather conditions.
  • Incumbent must be comfortable interacting with members of the public daily.

Other:


  • This is a seasonal nonunion position based on a 40hour work week.
Compensation is in accordance with the Salary Schedule adopted by Council and amended from time to time.
