Overview

The delivery driver plays a critical role in the success of Herman's Supply Company by ensuring timely, accurate, and safe deliveries to customers. As a representative of the company, drivers must maintain a highly professional demeanor while adhering to regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-trip inspection and preparation of the vehicle, including loading, securing items, and verifying shipping papers.
Operate vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to routes and timeframes to meet customer needs.
Maintain effective communication with the company during deliveries to receive updated instructions.
Document delivery details, accuracy, and receipt of orders according to company procedures.
Monitor and maintain vehicle maintenance records, daily log books, and required documents for safety and quality processes.
Safely operate equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, and boom-cranes as required.
Perform occasional warehouse duties as needed.
Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and technologies.
Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Ongoing duties as assigned.

Requirements

Deliver exceptional customer service.
Able to read maps or GPS and plan efficient routes.
Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
Exhibit a professional demeanor at all times.
Handle difficult customers with diplomacy and tact.
Follow written instructions and documented procedures.
Recognize and understand product numbers and alpha/numeric codes.
Working knowledge of Ministry of Transportation rules and regulations.
Effective listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
Operate forklifts if required.
Lift, carry, and maneuver heavy materials or equipment (up to 80 lbs).
Valid driver's license (AZ or DZ as required) and good driving record.

The ideal candidate must be physically fit, wear safety footwear and hard hat, and undergo a police check.
