    The Office of the Auditor General, located in Fredericton, is an independent office that serves the New Brunswick Legislative Assembly. The Auditor General assists the Legislative Assembly in holding the government accountable by reporting on government's performance and stewardship of public funds and resources. The findings of financial and performance audits are issued in the Auditor General's annual report to the Legislative Assembly and through appearances before the Standing Committee on Public Accounts.

    The Office of the Auditor General is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented professional to join our Office as an Executive Administrative Assistant.

    The position will act as Executive Administrative Assistant for the Auditor General and Deputy Auditor General, and also as receptionist/secretary for the Office. There are numerous opportunities to learn and grow within this role, as the duties are varied and challenging. Your continual improvement mindset and attention to detail will be an asset in this position.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Front office reception duties, including media monitoring
    • Responding to all incoming telephone calls and certain emails from the public and from other government offices
    • Supporting the Auditor General in report preparation, and identifying and implementing administrative efficiencies
    • Providing administrative support to professional staff
    • Purchasing office furniture, equipment and supplies
    • Acting as contact person for repairs, maintenance and office security
    • Performing such other duties as may be assigned or duties as required

    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma or equivalent, supported by a one year related post-secondary diploma, and a minimum of 3 years related work experience OR high school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of five years related work experience.
    • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially MSWord and Excel, and demonstrate an ability to learn other office applications.

    ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience providing client service in a financial environment
    • Experience providing client service in a public service office environment

    An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Applicants must clearly demonstrate required qualifications to be given further consideration.

    Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability on your application. Language proficiency testing may be required as part of the interview process. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a criminal record check prior to appointment.

    SALARY

    Pay Band 2 of the Management and Non-Union Pay Plan $45,474 - $63,492 annually, depending on education and experience.
