    Performance

    The CYCs work in a multidisciplinary team which includes collaboration with Section 23 teachers, Social Workers and Psychiatrists. CYC's must be flexible and able to transfer clinical skills into community settings. CYC's must be capable and willing to engage in daily physical activity and role-model healthy living. The CYC will participate in team rounds and communicate regularly with resources both inside and outside the program. 48_Support Created with Sketch.

    Support

    The Child and Youth Counsellor will be responsible for: group/program planning and facilitation; support to a Section 23 classroom; treatment planning, implementation and monitoring; orientation of clients and families to the program; and ongoing contact with family systems to enhance required treatment collaboration. 48_Goals Created with Sketch.

    Goals

    The successful candidate must be practiced and proficient in the implementation and monitoring of SMART goals for individual clients and must possess superior crisis intervention and behaviour management skills while interacting with clients in a manner consistent with client treatment plans.

    Qualifications

    Child and Youth Care diploma or Child and Youth Care with an associated Bachelor's degree (, psychology). A minimum of 4-6 years of recent clinical experience in a children's mental health setting with priority to candidates with experience in working with youth with complex needs, or youth in a day hospital or day treatment setting.
