SALES ADMINISTRATOR

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:_Director of Sales.

BASIC FUNCTION:_The Sales Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of material estimates and/or material quotes for customers. This individual's accuracy is critical to the profitability of the business as underestimates may cause significant financial losses and overestimates may result in the inability to win bids. This individual also supports the work of management as well as the Inside Sales Team and Outside Sales Team.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
_

  • Prepare or create documents for the executive teams as per specifications.
  • Preparation of charts, graphs, and presentations.
  • Arrange meetings and take minutes as required.
  • Use computer word processing, spreadsheet, and database software to prepare business letters, memos, and documents.
  • Review construction documents and understand material to bid.
  • Work directly with the outside sales representatives regarding all aspects of blueprints.
  • Participate in presentations to management and clients.
  • Work cooperatively with team members to contribute to the overall success of the business.
  • Maintain knowledge of products.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, professional standards and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Offer and give support to the Outside Sales Team and the Inside Sales Team.
  • Create various sales quotes.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
  • One (1) mandatory Saturday every year for inventory (Last weekend of July before Civic Holiday weekend).
  • Overtime as required.

EDUCATION:_

High School Diploma or GED or an acceptable combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE:_

  • Two years of direct work experience in an office management capacity.
  • 12 years of experience in residential and light commercial construction or 2 years in estimating/quoting.
  • Building material sales experience.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:_

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to do material estimates.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to use costestimating software to prepare cost quotes and bids.
  • Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Receptive with an ability to adapt to everchanging circumstances.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment as prescribed in designated areas.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of building materials is an asset.
  • Knowledge of BisTrack software is an asset.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:_

  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods at a time.
  • Reach overhead to grasp materials.
  • Ability to climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Strength: regularly lift and/or move up to 90 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computer and peripherals.

ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:_

  • Work inside in controlled temperature conditions.
  • Occasionally work in outside weather conditions.

Salary:
$50,000.00-$62,000.00 per year
