Quality Control Lead - Peterborough, Ontario, Canada (Onsite)

About the Opportunity
A primary responsibility of this role is to develop the team's skills and engage them to meet goals.


What will you do?

Your day to day:

  • Functioning as the single point of contact for and managing all quality control related matters.
  • Responsible for ongoing training of shop staff, planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Managing delivery expectations related to the QC team (e.g. cost & schedule performance)
  • Support daily project work by selection of personnel assignments.
  • Identifying improvement themes and leading resolution action.
  • Work with production team to provide the needed support for the operation, understanding priorities.
  • Provide guidance to shop inspectors if needed.
  • Administrative duties related to directreporting responsibility for all QC technicians and inspectors.
  • Driving continuous improvement is expected.

What will you bring?

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, or equivalent years of experience in a technical field, 10 + years.
  • Experienced with internal as well as external quality systems and procedures.
  • Previous direct management experience of at least 5 people within the past 5 years.
  • Understanding of quality assurance methods and tools.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Technical expertise in: dimensional inspection, NDE, welding, machining, assembly, and testing
