Quality Control Lead - Peterborough, Ontario, Canada (Onsite)

About the Opportunity
A primary responsibility of this role is to develop the team's skills and engage them to meet goals.

What will you do?

Your day to day:

Functioning as the single point of contact for and managing all quality control related matters.
Responsible for ongoing training of shop staff, planning, assigning, and directing work.
Managing delivery expectations related to the QC team (e.g. cost & schedule performance)
Support daily project work by selection of personnel assignments.
Identifying improvement themes and leading resolution action.
Work with production team to provide the needed support for the operation, understanding priorities.
Provide guidance to shop inspectors if needed.
Administrative duties related to directreporting responsibility for all QC technicians and inspectors.
Driving continuous improvement is expected.

What will you bring?

Who you are:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, or equivalent years of experience in a technical field, 10 + years.
Experienced with internal as well as external quality systems and procedures.
Previous direct management experience of at least 5 people within the past 5 years.
Understanding of quality assurance methods and tools.
Excellent communication skills.
Technical expertise in: dimensional inspection, NDE, welding, machining, assembly, and testing
