Position Summary


Insulators apply, remove, and repair insulation (e.g., calcium silicate, cellular glass, mineral wool, Styrofoam, fiberglass) on all types of industrial equipment (e.g., ducting, piping, heat exchangers, tanks and vessels).


Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Describes the materials used and identifies areas where fireproofing and fire stopping are used in a building system
  • Identifies and describes the various components of a commercial process system
  • Understands, identifies and describes the components and materials used in an Industrial system
  • Outlines the layout process, fabricates and installs removable box coverings on piping and equipment without supervision
  • Interprets mechanical drawings to describe processes, identifies their divisions and components related to specifications and addendums related to an industrial system
  • Safety is everyone's responsibility and you are responsible to look out for yourself and those around you

Education & Experience

  • Postsecondary or technical training is an asset
  • Static equipment experience (such as vessels, heat exchange, etc.)
  • Strong experience in pipe insulation
  • Safety tickets including
    :CSTS, CSO, Fall Protection, H2S Alive

  • Communication both verbally and written
  • Prioritizing multiple demands on a project or work site

Physical & Other Requirements

  • Lifting, bending, climbing
  • Ability to be exposed to various types of work environments
  • Use of various shop equipment and traderelated hand tools
  • Use of ladders or scaffolding
  • Working in confined spaces
  • Working with WHMIS products and materials
  • Use of specialized PPE such as respirators, coveralls and safety glasses

Salary:
From $40.15 per hour
