Department Overview


The Strategy, Change, and Operational Excellence (SCOE) team is part of the Bank's Transformation, Enablement and Customer Experience (TECE) organization.

The SCOE team has responsibilities to support the creation of the TECE Strategy, oversee Governance & Control, and lead Performance Management and Productivity functions.

Within the SCOE team there are also several best-in-class Enterprise capabilities including change management, process engineering, business architecture and digitization and automation.

Job Details


Reporting to the Vice-President, TECE Strategy, Planning & Support, the AVP TECE Strategy is an executive leader within the Bank's SCOE organization.


  • The general accountabilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:
  • Lead a best-in-class Centre of Excellence accountable for the Transformation, Enablement, and Customer Experience (TECE) strategy.
  • Facilitate the ongoing development of TECE strategy in conjunction with key leaders and stakeholders, seeking input throughout the strategy creation process, as well as capturing short, medium, and longterm goals and creating a strategic roadmap that includes key investment plans and change programs.
  • Manage and lead processes including the Strategic planning cycles and other TECE Operating Committee routines (e.g., Quarterly Business Unit Reviews, Monthly Operating Reviews etc.).
  • Be a strategic partner to the leadership team, with deep industry, external / internal, enterprise knowledge, recognizing and anticipating emerging trends and identifying operational efficiencies and opportunities with other Enterprise areas
  • Facilitate key strategic discussions and provide thought leadership to executive audience (output may include strategic roadmap and/or deliverables/ frameworks/ short to long term goals, etc.).
  • Partner with TECE functions to create Board presentations including Quarterly Board Update (QBU)
  • Manage Market Intelligence for TECE anticipate emerging trends and identify issues and opportunities while recommending action as required.
  • Ensure an integrated and aggregated view of all related activities across the overall function providing escalations, recommendations, and decision support to leadership.
  • Lead Enterprise House Views including challenge and thought leadership.
  • Lead relationships with other Corporate and control functions to ensure alignment with Enterprise and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with other critical functions within TECE (e.g., Productivity and Performance Measurements, Project Delivery Group, Data, etc.) to actively manage progress against goals and targets; set the mediumterm, and longterm roadmap for TECE.
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes and sound infrastructure an in alignment with risk appetite.
  • Prioritize and manage own workload in order to deliver quality results and meet timelines.
  • Drive talent strategy that creates a community of practice to provide colleagues with a diverse learning ecosystem and robust career development, positioning TECE as an employer of choice.
  • Foster an environment / culture that encourages productivity, innovation, process improvement, teamwork and a high level of professionalism.
Job Requirements


Specific Educational Requirements:


  • Undergraduate degree required; Post Graduate degree preferred

  • Proven track record in developing and executing on business/enterprise level strategies.
  • Experience and proven record in working closely with senior executives across all lines of business, demonstrating conceptual and critical thinking.
  • Thoughtful leader who works exceptionally well in crossfunctional teams and is a champion of collaboration.
  • Effective stakeholder management with a professional partnerfocused approach; a collaborator with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization.
