Job Description:


Reporting to the Engineering and Construction Director, you are responsible for project management and leading the organization in the critical construction and engineering tasks, development and/or implementation of strategies and polices integrated at the project.

A strong collaborative approach in the implementation and initiatives is essential in the success of this role.

This position performs principal functions to ensure overall health & safety, ensure completion of construction projects on schedule and budget.


Responsibilities:


  • Meet with the clients and senior management to identity the client requirements
  • Estimate high level budget and planning schedule to be presented for approval
  • Conduct a final review for the project chart and obtain client's approval
  • Initiate the project and establish the communication plan including the project organizational chart
  • Lead the tender process for consultants, designers, general contractors and subtrades
  • Prepare the contractual documents and specify the contract type with its terms and conditions
  • Present the enterprise with supporting consultants to the different authorities and governmental bodies to acquire the corresponding permits for construction
  • Engage third parties' quality control and ensure the implementation of the high quality best standard and practices throughout the project construction phases
  • Maintain, monitor, and approve change orders
  • Submit the risk management plan and identify the risk trigger list
  • Control the project progress within the estimated budget and according to the planning schedule
  • Follow up with the consultant's conformity letters and ensure the project compliances with the applicable regulations
  • Ensure coordination with the company different department
  • Enforce Health and safety regulation within the project construction phases
  • Acquiring the asbuilt package and submitting it to the client department along with all the contacts, warranty and assets technical documents
  • Close the project professionally and ensure the completion of the Hand over in an efficient approach and result.

Qualifications:


  • Construction management or Engineering degree, civil or architectural
  • Minimum 45 years as Project Manager at a general contracting company
  • Experience in a commercial and industrial project is an asset
  • Project management professional certificate is an asset
  • Knowledge in geotechnical and Heavy industrial Equipment considered an asset
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills within the field of expertise
  • Experience in estimating, planning approval processes and working within the regulatory process would be considered an asset
  • Flexibility to travel and spend occasional weekends
  • Read and use AutoCAD for sketches demonstrating and build schedule MS Project are a must
  • Knowledge of OBC Code as well the ECA and conservation authority regulation
