Overview of the Role


The National Account Manager will be responsible for a select portfolio of Food Service accounts, accountable for volume, profitability, contract administration and the overall relationship with the customer, across all levels of the organization.

Additional accountabilities include leading distributor relations, execution of strategic initiatives, securing of new business and managing product demand forecast.

How you will make contributions that matter:

  • Deliver balanced growth within the National portfolio of accounts;
  • In conjunction with the senior sales management team, develop annual operating plan and budgets;
  • Review weekly revenues, costs and margin performance relative to budget;
  • Develop, implement and measure further action plans where necessary;
  • Coordinate and execute annual joint business plans, with set group of strategic accounts;
  • Secure innovation listings and expand product distribution, by creating value add product solutions in the National Food Service segment;
  • Evaluate and act upon opportunities for continuous improvement;
  • Exhibit high level of industry knowledge in terms of products and pricing;
  • Accountable for the P&L of the accounts and the operational plans to deliver budgeted financial performance;
  • Disciplined approach to securing, administering and monitoring pricing strategy;
  • Administer product rebates on set frequency, while confirming accuracy of the sales reporting.
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

  • A degree/diploma in Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent education and training;
  • 2 to 5 years National Account Management or Product Development experience, preferably in a packaged goods environment;
  • Proven track record of excellence in achieving performance targets;
  • Ability to demonstrate influence leadership;
  • Team oriented with strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills;
  • Detailed orientated, highly organized and accountable;
  • High degree of P&L fluency;
  • Able to work with tight deadlines in a multi-task, high priority environment;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver's license and use of a vehicle
