- Follow and comply with both company and BC Transit policies, procedures and guidelines
- Diagnose, examine and investigate to determine causes of defective operation of vehicle components with the use of computer diagnostic equipment
- Determine proper course of action to facilitate vehicle repair, maintenance, adjustment and component replacement of the Transit fleet
- Operate buses in order to diagnose component failure or move buses when required
- Work with Shop Management to maintain schedules and priorities
- Perform government Inspections (CVIP)
- Complete all documentation associated with equipment repairs
- Suggest areas for additional training and assist with training of apprentices
- Attend company training programs as required
- Journeyperson Certification will be required (Truck and Transport, Heavy Duty); Applicant must be eligible to challenge exam if not yet certified
- Valid driver's license
- Air brake endorsement or willing to obtain
- CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) License desired
- Trade diploma / Registered apprenticeship or equivalent is required
- Minimum 3 years of work experience is required
- Must have analytical problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Fluent in English – must be able to read and understand parts and service manuals
- Proficient with computer equipment
- Health & Safety Knowledge – OH&S rules and regulations guidelines

You will be tasked with performing regular preventative maintenance, repairs and CVIPs, while being challenged in systematic utilization of our fleet, shop facilities, efficiencies, and safety of our fleet.
