Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops an LMS training plan for faculty, including planned professional development activities and new employee orientation
- Coordinates and delivers workshops, orientation sessions, faculty coaching sessions, and other training sessions in partnership with the academic area and other stakeholders
- Develops and maintains resources to support both justintime and ongoing development of faculty related to the effective use of LMS features
- Functions as a project leader to analyse, integrate, and deploy educational technology in all forms, in support of the administrative objectives of the College
- Collaborates with college staff to plan the implementation and adoption of new LMS features, while ensuring security and integrity of systems and data
- Maintains currency with respect to new and emerging educational technologies, programs and tools, as well as other technologies which may impact on the learning environment
- Conducts research on feasibility of new products based on identified needs and makes recommendations to maximize investment results
- Prepares specifications and status reports on educational technologyrelated projects, and contributes to the procurement process
Required Qualifications- Minimum of three (3) year diploma in Educational Technology, Information Technology, Instructional Design, Multimedia Development or a related field.
Strong working knowledge of a learning management system (specifically Brightspace) is preferred.- Minimum of five (5) years' experience supporting instructors to use technology for teaching and learning.
Experience should include teacher coaching and the delivery of training workshops to teachers or instructors, and the development of print and/or web-based support materials.- Experience supporting teachers to use and integrate educational technology within an educational institution, especially in higher education, is considered an asset.- Experience with teaching or instructional design is considered an asset.- Must have strong interpersonal skills with ability to patiently troubleshoot and build positive relationships with faculty, co-workers, and management staff with varying technical experience.- Must have strong presentation and written communication skills with ability to effectively explain technical content in an engaging, easy to understand manner.- Well-developed coordination, planning, and time management skills.- Experience creating accessible web-based and print-based materials using Microsoft Office and web design tools such as WordPress.- Experience using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe Premiere or similar media production or e-learning authoring tools is highly desirable.
