If you are an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who demonstrates initiative and wants to work for a forward-thinking, creative employer, then this opportunity is for you The Information Technology Department with the City of Chilliwack, a growing and vibrant community of 100,580 located 100 kilometres east of Vancouver, is seeking a skilled individual to fill the position of IT Co-Op Student.

The City of Chilliwack takes great pride in its focus on providing excellent service to its citizens and we are looking for a like-minded person to join our team.

The qualifications we seek are as follows:

Must be enrolled in the Co-operative Education Program at a recognized post-secondary institution and have met the specific entrance criteria for that program;
Sound knowledge of English business communications;
Able to perform assignments with mínimal supervision;
Good knowledge of modern office practices and procedures;
Observing and complying with municipal policies and ensuring the safety and security of confidential material pertaining to the Department's operation;
Have working knowledge of computer operating systems, and software including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe products;
Creating, managing and closing helpdesk request tickets;
Installation of hardware including computers, monitors, keyboards & mice;
Office moves moving PCs, monitors and desk phones;
Cable management, tidying up cables;
Driving to our remote facilities to support IT equipment with a valid Class 7N or 5 BC driver's license; The work week is Monday to Friday and the hourly rate for this unionized position is $28.97 / hour
