Who We Are Looking For
As one of our Securities Paralegals you will play a key role managing legal and administrative aspects of the practice.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare general corporate and securities documents which include private placements, stock options, AGM's, prospectus, share exchange agreements, escrow agreements, reverse takeovers and others
- SEDAR, SEDI and BC Registry filings for reporting companies
- Assist with completing and filing forms with TSX, TSXV, CSE and the securities commissions in each province and territory as required
- Draft continuous disclosure documents (i.e. news releases, material change reports etc.)
- Complete PPSA searches and registrations
- Assist with preparing and filing of reports of exempt distribution
- Liaise with legal assistants, paralegals and other lawyers, and clients on file progress
Qualifications
- Graduate of a Legal Administrative Assistant Program or Paralegal Program
- Minimum 5 years' of experience as a Hybrid LAA or Paralegal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and familiarity with Excel
- Excellent English, oral and written skills
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure
- Able to manage multiple priorities while paying attention to details
- Able to communicate with clients, lawyers and staff
- Confident and dependable, with strong initiative and the ability to work both independently and in a team oriented atmosphere
