DISTRICT MANAGER
Our team in

District Manager

YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Summary:

To maximize sales, profitability and return on capital employed and to develop business opportunities and strong
commercial leaders within the District while meeting the requirements of our customers, suppliers and
employees. Based on the operational demands of the role, a minimum of two on-site days per work is required.

  • Leads and inspires a high performing District Team that supports Brenntag's Core Values and the Brenntag
Way execution for business conduct and compliance;

  • Contributes to the delivery of service excellence to both internal and external customer groups;
Builds and maintains a positive work environment by actively driving employee initiatives aimed at
enhancing engagement and satisfaction;

  • Together with Focus Industry Managers develops a strategic growth plan, programs, budgets and forecasts
for the District and provides strategic direction as required;

  • Maintains and enhances Brenntag's competitive position by monitoring local market activity and ensuring
that appropriate and corrective actions are taken;

  • Encourages the identification and pursuit of new market opportunities through line sales personnel and
discussions with other District Managers;

  • Develops effective longterm relationships with customers and suppliers within the District;
  • Responsible for District Profit & Loss; maximizes return on capital employed and optimizes the use of
working capital DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), DPO (Days Payable Outstanding) and inventory turn;

  • Ensures teamwork and close coordination between Sales, Industry Managers, Operations, Customer Service,
and the Procurement Teams;

  • Oversees development and conversion of the Industrial (and in Alberta, Oil & Gas) opportunity pipeline
through the Sales Force business system;

  • Ensures safety is the first priority and that all activities are conducted in accordance with quality, health,
safety and environmental management systems as well as corporate and local policies.


YOUR PROFILE

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and/or Business
  • Previous management experience in the chemical distribution industry (5+ years)
  • Prior sales/marketing experience in a chemical organization (710 years)
  • Sound skills in the use Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Superior communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Bilingual (English/French) *Quebec District Only
