Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Journeyperson Carpenter to join our team.

As a Journeyperson Carpenter, you will be responsible for various carpentry tasks including tile laying, construction painting, siding installation, and general building and restoration projects.

This is a full-time position that requires proficiency in carpentry skills and the ability to work with hand tools.


Responsibilities:


  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials
  • Install tiles for flooring and walls
  • Construct and install cabinets, shelves, doors, windows, and other wooden fixtures
  • Perform construction painting tasks as needed
  • Estimate materials and labor costs for carpentry projects
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects on time and within budget
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations

Requirements:


  • Proven experience as a Journeyperson Carpenter or similar role
  • Proficiency in various carpentry skills including tile laying, construction painting, siding installation, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, tools, and techniques
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret construction drawings
  • Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Physical stamina to handle demanding tasks such as lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Note:
This is a paid position. Internship positions are also compensated.

Job Types:

Contract length: 5 months


Pay:
$23.79-$44.56 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week


Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Education:


  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

- carpentry: 5 years (preferred)


Language:


  • English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
