About the Role
We are looking for a driven and experienced HR professional to join and help shape the future of VIFC. Reporting to the CEO, the HR Manager will undertake all aspects of human resources for the organization. The HR Manager will champion the VIFC team and foster an inclusive culture. This is an exciting and fast-paced opportunity as we will be accelerating recruitment in early 2023.

Day-to-day, this role will provide strategic support to VIFC's functional leaders by identifying opportunities, bringing insight and solutions to support all team members.

The HR Manager is a highly visible role and will have a direct impact on the evolution of the company's culture.


Responsibilities

  • Partner with team leaders to identify talent requirements
  • Build the team by managing the talent acquisition process endtoend
  • Act as an advisor to the leadership on all things people and culture
  • Develop and manage the year end performance review process
  • Leverage innovative HRIS/HRMS tools to efficiently manage benefits administration, onboarding and training, employee certifications and documents, vacation tracking, and company policies
  • Provide daytoday administrative support of all HR functions including employee relations, communications, employee surveys, etc.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree in Business or related field
  • Professional certification (CHRP or other) or an advanced program in Human Resources is preferred
  • Minimum of 57 years of proven HR experience, including recruitment and onboarding experience
  • An interest and ability to work in a startup culture
  • Experience working with HRIS/HRMS is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of the marine industry is considered an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of British Columbia labour law and employee standards
  • A natural curiosity, humility, and hunger for growth
  • Process oriented and obsessive over details you take pride in knowing all the details and ensuring accuracy
  • Solutions focused mindset with a desire to build and improve
