Description
Legacy Equipment is seeking a motivated and reliable Journeyman Shop Mechanic for work in Edmonton, AB.
Reporting to the Service Manager, the Shop Mechanic is required to inspect, diagnose, service, and repair large and small equipment based on the Service Supervisor's prioritization in order to ensure that all equipment dispatched to the job site is functional and meets both regulatory and certificate requirements.
In this position, some travelling to sites in and around the Edmonton region will be required and will be required to participate in on-call rotation for emergency repairs.
Responsibilities
- Inspections on Inbound Equipment
- Diagnose and complete repairs on company equipment as prioritized by Service and Repair Coordinator, Supervisor, or Service Manager
- Confer with Service Supervisor and Shop Foreman regarding the extent of repairs need to inform repair/replace decisions
- Ensure that all repairs remain within budget requirements
- Ensure that all work is completed in a safe manner
- Enter computer timesheets
- Complete work orders daily
- Perform work in both the field (outdoor construction site setting) and the shop
- Inform and/or educate users on site regarding required equipment service and maintenance
- Work collaboratively with other personnel
- Act in a courteous manner in order to project a positive company image
- Escalate any issues to the Service and Repair Coordinator that this role cannot resolve in a satisfactory manner, within the agreed upon service levels
Requirements:
- Journeyman Certification for Heavy Equipment Technician
- Knowledge on working with Telehandlers, boom lifts, excavators, skid steers and heaters is required.
- Previous experience with construction equipment rental industry would be an asset
- Maintain continuous professional development to acquire skills and knowledge to optimize personal development and job growth
- Must speak, read, and write English fluently
