ASSOCIATE, MARKETING & CLIENT SERVICES - Institutional Asset Management
Sprucegrove Investment Management Ltd. is a Toronto
- based investment management firm with a value style, specializing in Global equities for institutional clients. We are registered in Canada as a Portfolio Manager and, as applicable, an Investment Fund Manager with nine provincial securities commissions/regulators, including our principal Canadian regulator, the Ontario Securities Commission ("OSC"). Sprucegrove is also registered as an investment adviser with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC").


Reporting to the Manager, Marketing & Client Services, you will have experience working in the asset management industry with demonstrated experience in supporting multiple client-facing initiatives.

Responsibilities will include delivery of all aspects of marketing and client services support to clients, prospects and consultants and providing administrative oversight of internal marketing programs.

In addition, the Associate will be responsible for responses to Requests for Proposals ("RFP"), Requests for Information ("RFI") and Due Diligence Questionnaires ("DDQs").

The Associate will work closely with all members of the Marketing & Client Servicing team, as well as Portfolio Management, Research and Operations teams.


What you will do:


  • Deliver consistency across all client and prospect deliverables including marketing materials, client quarterly commentary, RFPs, and consultant databases.
  • Ensure processes and practices for all marketing activities are aligned with the required governance framework to manage and mitigate risks. Support compliance and legal signoff process of all marketing, due diligence and RFP materials.
  • Leverage systems, tools and processes to coordinate requirements for institutional RFPs, RFIs, DDQs and consultant questionnaires, ensuring content is targeted, accurate, and compliant.
  • Coordinate and/or create presentation materials, provide timely response to inquiries, including marketing materials, written responses and support needed to produce consolidated reports.
  • Maintain information and data inputs in systems including CRM and other systems. Manage firm and strategy data in consultant and thirdparty databases.
  • Project Management support of assigned projects and ensure control oversight
  • Leverage firm wide system capabilities to deliver timely and accurate data collection and reporting
  • Design and provide daytoday support to management on ad hoc requests as needed
  • Coordinate and collaborate work streams that focus on data, technology, product initiatives
  • Develop and support strategic solutions to enhance client experience
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Sprucegrove's clients and assets,

What you will bring:


  • Bachelor's degree in a businessrelated field.
  • 3+ years of similar experience in the asset management industry
  • Excellent technical investment writing and analytical skills.
  • Working towards a CFA designation, an asset.
  • Ability to interact, influence and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and across business functions including Portfolio Management, Client Service, Compliance, Legal and other Subject Matter Experts.
  • Strong sense of governance to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Ability to multitask, work in a demanding, fast paced environment, and handle multiple, competing priorities and projects with high quality output at all times.
  • Detailoriented and demonstrated strength in analysis; ability to identify and communicate trends and patterns in data; able to assimilate large quantities of data into clear, concise summaries.
