The Children's Aid Society of the District of Nipissing and Parry Sound is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team in the capacity of Supervisor of Child Welfare in Parry Sound.

This temporary full-time position is located in the Parry Sound office for a term of up to twelve (12) months.

The Supervisor of Child Welfare will oversee and be responsible for the delegation of duties, assignment of work and ensuring quality service delivery and case management of their assigned team.

Reporting to the Director of Service, the Supervisor of Child Welfare will ensure compliance to legislated and regulatory requirements as prescribed by the Child, Youth and Family Services Act.

All actions are performed according to the vision, mission, values and overall strategic direction of PARNIPCAS. This position is outside of the Bargaining Unit.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Master of Social Work preferred but consideration will be given to Bachelor of Social Work.
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in child welfare
  • Two (2) years or more of demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous, Métis and Inuit service modalities, customs, and traditions as they relate to historical child welfare practices.
  • Strong clinical background and demonstrated knowledge and skill in the areas of critical thinking, problem resolution and strengthbased practice.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage and facilitate change.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, team player, leader, innovative, flexible, creative, transparent, and organized.
  • Valid Ontario class 'G' Driver's Licence and satisfactory Driver's Abstract.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to keep up with current trends and advances in child welfare.
  • Excellent ability to make decisions of sound judgment, often in crisis or emergency situations, and to manage crisis situations appropriately.

Pay:
$91,949.00-$108,378.00 per year
