    Job Summary

    The Expert, System Architect is responsible for leading the delivery of critical customer and logistics solutions.

    As a full-stack architect, the role leads the architecture of cloud native applications and infrastructure to drive the creation of industry-leading products.

    Moreover, as an expert product builder, the role defines practical architectures that ensure the performance, scalability, and maintainability of complex distributed systems.

    The position contributes to the definition of strategic technology directions and defines continuous improvement objectives in collaboration with the innovation leadership team.

    Main Responsibilities
    Solution Architecture and Delivery

    • Lead the delivery of Innovation initiatives and create great products by focusing on the needs of the customers and business value delivery
    • Create systems architectures and modernization strategies such as moving to cloud native mobile applications, Application Programming Interface (API) MicroServices, Integrations and Data Lake with target and transitions architectures and roadmaps over multiple years
    • Design and optimize application and integration strategies for the cost-effective delivery of scalable and reliable distributed systems
    Architecture Practice Evolution

    • Evaluate current and emerging technologies
    • Be a leader in the Innovation group, fostering a culture of design thinking, brainstorming, efficiency, and balancing vision with practicality
    • Define architecture and engineering standards, patterns and best practices
    • Influence Innovation leadership with effective communication of proposals, directions and strategic decision making
    Working Conditions


    The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday and is eligible to participate in CN flexible work-from-home policy.

    Requirements
    Experience

    Applications, Data and Cloud

    • Minimum 12 years of experience with applications, data, and cloud
    • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Architect with application, technology architecture covering Applications, APIs, MicroServices, Systems Integration and Distributed Computing
    • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Senior Architect using Mobile, MicroServices and cloud technologies
    o Experience architecting and building enterprise grade products

    o Experience in program and project scoping as well as planning with Agile process and tools

    o Experience in delivering agile and iterative architectures

    o Experience with Legacy Systems Modernization (Mainframe, Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP), Java)

    o Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) technologies**Any experience for these above would be considered as an asset

    Education/Certification/Designation

    • Bachelor's Degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience

    • Knowledge of Data and Database Architectures
    • Knowledge of Cloud Architecture and Development Operations (DevOps)
    *Any knowledge for any of the above would be considered as an asset
