Position Overview:

As a Pharmacy Technician you will be responsible for technical and clerical functions in the area assigned.

Duties include unit-dose or traditional dispensing, medication cart refill, ward stock replenishment, inventory management, sterile and non-sterile compounding and prepackaging.

All rotations include the responsibility for documentation, continuous quality improvement and workload measurement.

Requirements:


  • Pharmacy Technician Diploma from a Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP) accredited college
  • Registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in multiple acute care hospital settings providing automated unit dose and IV admixture services
  • Team player with excellent communication skills, critical thinking and customer service skills
  • Exceptional relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates values consistent with SHN's Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation
  • Utilize protective equipment provided and identify and reports hazards
  • Engages in ethical conduct and strives to understand and appreciate the diversity of our patient/staff population and community
  • Excellent work performance and attendance record
