Location

Position Overview
The position provides a full range of support services to the Community Planning Department.


Responsibilities

This position is responsible for:

Customer service: provides backup support to the Planning Technicians by assisting customers at the front counter and over the phone with general planning related inquiries when needed.

Administrative support: Assist the department by providing research assistance, filing, retrieving historical files, photocopying, opening/sorting and sending mail, maintaining office supplies and departmental equipment needs, meeting arrangements, ordering of publications for staff, and preparation of public notice mailing lists.

Records management: Maintain the department's records management program including scanning and attaching historical planning approvals to appropriate AMANDA folders. Ensure current planning approvals are appropriately attached to applicable AMANDA folders. Ensure data fields for all folders are consistently entered into AMANDA and up to date.


Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you have strong oral and written communication skills and excel in customer service. With a proven attention to detail, you stay organized and use your time effectively. You also work well in an environment that has frequent interruptions due to customers and staff requiring assistance.
