We are a well-established architectural firm of 25+ years with offices in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Florida primarily working in the hospitality, retail, commercial and entertainment sectors.

The Role


The Project Manager will possess a strong understanding of the design and construction process and will have experience managing the process on projects from inception to completion.

There will be emphasis on maintaining and building client relationships as well as a dynamic approach to working with a team through the contracting, construction and tendering phases.

Building targeted goals and meeting objectives and timelines will be a key component of the day to day duties of this role.

The position will have the opportunity to grow further into a Senior Leadership/ Management position, therefore strong leadership skills are preferred.


Some of the Things You'll Work On

Program Management: Involved with multiple projects, the PM will support program management. This person will provide a big-picture perspective to manage projects to ensure they are in line with strategic business objectives.

Goal Setting and Project Planning: The PM will work with stakeholders to set project goals and objectives. They will also be charged with identifying and procuring necessary resources, estimating project budgets, setting project scopes and schedules, and wrapping all that information into project plans.

Mentoring and coaching: The PM will provide leadership by building project teams and motivating them to hit project milestones. They will participate in building and training the project team to expand their capabilities by establishing best practices, policies, PM methodologies, quality assurance and control, tools, and templates.

Project Tracking & Evaluation: The PM will monitor, manage, and evaluate the project. They will monitor, track, and control outcomes, facilitating project team meetings along the way to ensure performance, progress, and to address problems that arise. The senior PM will be involved in issues that arise, such as delays in resource procurement, sudden personnel shifts, or interpersonal conflicts. When problems emerge, the senior PM will help with resolution.

Communications and Coordination: The role of the PM is cross-functional, meaning they will not only work with multiple project teams and project managers but other professionals in the organization as well. Given the cross-functional nature of your role and your bird's eye view over several projects, the PM will often develop and execute a communication strategy for all project stakeholders. The PM will report to external clients and/or organizational leadership regarding project status, progress, metrics, risks, test results, and deployment activities. The PM will also provide feedback, advice, and encouragement to the project manager and team members during project execution.

PM Consultant and Resource Person: The PM is a source of authority and advice for their teams. Members of the team will seek their recommendations for best practices and tools to increase efficiency, boost productivity, and achieve project and business goals.


You'll Need to Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture and/or equivalent
  • PMP certifications are assets
  • Minimum 5+ years of industry experience; specifically retail, commercial with prior management experience in all phases of projects
  • Excellent experience managing large projects from inception to completion with understanding of the contracting and construction phases.
  • Strong technical experience in AutoCAD/ Revit so as to be able to review and mark up drawings
  • Ability to perform and execute a project as well as lead a team effectively is a must
  • Exceptional communication skills
