    Helping youth in their recovery journey is one of the most fulfilling opportunities you can undertake. The Youth Recovery Treatment Program is in intensive, inpatient treatment program for youth aged 12-18 years recovering from the harmful effects of substance misuse and abuse. The 8 bed program is 3 months in duration and youth are involved in individual, group, recreational and family counseling as part of their recovery plan. Youth also attend an onsite school and access healthy community activities with staff support. As a Client Care Assistant, you are responsible for engagement, relationship building, supervision, observation and facilitation of some recreational and psychoeducational groups. As part of the multidisciplinary team, you will participate and support youth in community based activities and outings and role model healthy interpersonal communication.     Description:

    As a Client Care Assistant, you will work as a team member with all staff assisting in the provision of supportive care to clients with addictions. Your primary duties include providing supportive care to clients, ensuring a safe and secure facility, responding to client requests, communicating effectively with other staff and contributing to a therapeutic environment through interaction with clients. As part of an interprofessional team, you will contribute to the delivery of residential services to persons with an addiction promoting client respect, autonomy, health and improved quality of life. You will support clients to participate in activities of daily living, recreational and social activities, and educational and employment activities. You will also work collaboratively with other health and service providers to maintain a safe and supportive environment.

    Required Qualifications:

    Completion of Grade 12. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

    Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in addiction and/or mental health settings.
