About the Opportunity:


Reporting to the Director, Policy, Planning and Clinical Virtual Care, Mental Health and Addictions and in close collaboration with the zone Directors of Mental Health and Addictions, the Manager supports transformation and planning across the Mental Health and Addictions Program (MHAP) by providing leadership to the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of services.

The Manager facilitates the adoption of evidence-based practices and models of service delivery and enables continuous improvement across the Mental Health and Addiction Program (MHAP).

They ensure the completeness, timeliness, credibility, and effectiveness of MHAP's quality management system (including policies and standards) and related recommendations to improve and ensure MHAP service safety, quality meet National Accreditation Standards and other regulatory requirements.

The Manager leads a team of provincial and zonal Quality Leads in achieving the goals of MHAP.


The Manager provides leadership in the strategic and operational planning of the quality team for the Mental Health and Addiction Program and provides leadership to provincial planning that supports the mission, vision and business plan of Mental Health and Addictions Program and NSH.

Leads work in consultation with the MHA management team in developing, implementing and monitoring all zone and provincial quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.


About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field, which may include a health care discipline or business administration
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a leadership or management position.
  • Minimum of three to five years' experience in leading quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Demonstrated strength in planning and implementing a variety of strategic activities related to accreditation, safety, quality improvement for a clinical health related program with multiple partners and stakeholders.
  • Must have experience and demonstrated expertise in quality improvement methodologies.
  • Must have experience and demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret statistical data and monitor quality and performance indicators and benchmarks.
  • Must have experience engaging teams, leaders, medical staff, clinicians, patients/clients and stakeholders in a collaborative, participatory manner which supports the mission, vision, goals and objectives of the Mental Health and Addictions portfolio and the organization.
  • Must have excellent report writing and presentation skills, presenting results in a meaningful manner specific to the target audience
  • Judgment and decisionmaking skills demonstrated through analysis and synthesis, problem solving, systems thinking and emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to report on indicators (i.e., financial, human resource, clinical, client/family satisfaction).
  • Travel is required, valid Nova Scotia Driver's License and access to reliable vehicle.

Hours:


  • Permanent Full Time position; 75 hours biweekly

Compensation and Incentives:

$ $54.88 hourly
