Position Overview:
The day-to-day work activities of a Security Guard working at
IGPC include, but are not limited, the following duties:
- Control entry and access to the plant and maintain accurate logs of those entering and leaving the plant
- Weigh Scale Operation
- Shipping/Receiving duties of inbound/outbound deliveries
- Report safety noncompliances and all incidents to specified
IGPC representative - Aid in incident mitigation and investigations when required
- Aid in emergency responses and first aid measures when required
- Aid in
IGPC Health and Safety programs/procedures when required - Maintain a helpful and professional affiliation with
IGPC employees, carriers, contractors, and visitors - Prevent, help manage, observe, detect, report:
- Thefts, break-ins, vandalism
- Accidents, fire, leaks
- Articles of value found
- Damage found to building
- Hazardous conditions
- Unauthorized parking on site
- Any other circumstances and conditions not in line with good security practices
- Follow additional practices as set out by
IGPC when necessary
The applicant must possess the following:
- Be courteous and cooperative with a high quality of customer service;
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures;
- Able to maintain a professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances and people under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations;
- Write clear, concise and legible reports
Preferred skills/qualifications:
- Valid Ontario Security Guard license (required)
- Valid First Aid & CPR certificate
- Experience in a Truck Gate/Warehouse environment
- Physically capable of cutting truck bolt seals
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (required)
- Adaptable to Inhouse Software
Essential Job Functions:

At the time of the interview applicant must be able to produce proof of completion of the following prerequisites:
- A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Proficient in English (both oral and written)
- Proof of double COVID19 Vaccination
Successful completion of the following requirements provided by Paladin are mandatory prior to placement:
- First Aid & CPR
- Level C
- Management of Aggressive Behavior
- Use of Force
- Report Writing
- Additional courses as assigned
Upon hire successful applicants will be required to complete the following Paladin online courses:
- Successful completion of Paladin's online Customer Service
- Successful completion of Paladin's online Patrol Procedures
- Successful completion of Paladin's online Diversity Awareness
- Successful completion of Paladin's online Finding The OHS Manual
- Successful completion of Paladin's online Paladin OHS Orientation
- Successful completion of Paladin's online Dealing with People with Mental Illness
- Successful completion of Paladin's online Workplace Respect
- Successful completion of Paladin's online Slips, Trips and Falls
- Additional courses as assigned
