    Job Description

    We are actively seeking a Director, Real Asset Technology who can lead a diverse and talented team of software engineers, analysts, and quality engineers. As a leader, you will play a pivotal role in driving business capabilities and shaping our modern cloud-native applications supporting products related to asset management and portfolio analytics for private asset investment groups. Reporting to the Managing Director of Alternative Asset Technology, you will have end to end accountability for implementing technology solutions in collaboration with our Real Asset Product Owner.

    Major Accountabilities:

    • Lead agile software delivery and provide technical oversight of product solutions supporting business capability enablement
    • Foster a DevOps/ Quality Engineering mindset and strong understanding of the Real Assets with focus on Real Estate, Infrastructure and Sustainable Investing businesses within your team to ensure agility and meet current and future business needs.
    • Collaborate closely with the Investment Department Product Owner to shape the product roadmap, leveraging your deep understanding of the business domain and its context within CPPIB.
    • Encourage an entrepreneurial mindset, constructively driving continuous improvement within your team and across teams
    • Ensure strategic alignment of products across the CPPIB ecosystem and architecture/delivery alignment to industry and T&D best practices and standards
    • Manage vendor relationships, optimizing efficiency and meeting budgetary needs to maximize business value

    Qualifications

    If you have the following qualifications, we encourage you to apply:

    • A minimum of 8 years of senior software engineering experience, demonstrating strong knowledge of modern development and architecture practices.
    • Ability to build strong relationships, influence and communicate effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders, including business leaders, operational staff, and technical engineers
    • People leadership experience and strong knowledge of software development best practices
    • Proven experience leading and collaborating with diverse technology teams and business partners, building strong relationships, and effectively communicating with stakeholders.
    • Possess good judgment, a collaborative spirit, curiosity, and strong communication skills.
    • Ability to quickly understand the technology needs of business groups and quickly translate complex business needs to technology solutions
    • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
    • Additional assets include CFA designation and/or knowledge of private market investment domains.
    • Familiarity and experience with Alternative Asset technology is considered a plus.
