The Opportunity:

The Recreation Aide role at the Medicine Hat Care Community in Medicine Hat, AB, involves prioritizing top-notch resident care and emphasizing efficient time management. We are seeking a compassionate professional with strong leadership abilities to lead our dynamic team providing hospitality and wellness services within our supportive living community.

- Part-time position, 33 hours per week

Demonstrate a strong commitment to Person Directed Care approaches
Familiarity with the Eden Alternative Philosophy and the Domains of Well-Being is advantageous
Strive for excellence in resident, family member, and employee care
Show friendliness, humor, and respect towards all individuals
Execute recreational services as outlined in the Care/Service Plan
Advocate for residents and facilitate their involvement
Conduct audits and reports, ensuring the delivery of recreational services aligns with the Resident Care Plan & Service Plan
Assist residents in addressing personal leisure barriers
Adhere to Emergency Management, Infection Control, WHMIS, and Health & Safety protocols
Support daily life activities within the community
Engage in projects and quality improvement initiatives
Maintain relevant certifications
Demonstrate patient leadership and strong team-oriented behaviors
Act as a professional motivator, coach, and mentor

Foundational requirements to start with:

Hold valid First Aid and CPR certification
Possess a clear criminal record check with a vulnerable sector check
