Your Opportunity:
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, Calgary Eating Disorder Program (CEDP), and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, the Family Counsellor will provide assessment, treatment/case management to clients who are dealing with an eating disorder and their families.
In addition to a therapy role, the position also provides consultation to families, professionals and community members who may call with concerns about someone suspected of having an eating disorder.
Providing Eating Disorder education to families as well as professionals is also part of this role.Description:
As a Family Counsellor, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up to clients and their families.
You will also provide clinical focused consultation with other programs or community resources and acts as a liaison to develop and promote preventative health programs in the community.
You will collaborate with other health care providers and community service providers to ensure a continuum of care in the community.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of master's degree in a health related field. Active or eligible for registration with applicable professional association or college.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in a Mental Health related discipline. Current Registration in relevant professional association recognized by Alberta's Health Profession Act. (e.g., ACSW or CAP).
Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience and excellence in individual, family, and group therapy in a mental health/psychiatric setting, preferably with adolescents and young adults coping with an eating disorder.
Experience working collaboratively in the provision of a full range of services, from promotion and prevention to treatment and restoration, preferably as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work independently. Creative, flexible, collaborative systems thinker. Knowledge about evaluation strategies and outcome research. Strong Computer skills required. Strong presentation skills. Position is based at RRDTC location, however, may support treatment services at ACH and/or FMC as required. Position is predominately days, however, before COVID there was some evening shifts.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Eating Disorders and mental health. Experience in Family Therapy. Experience in Group Therapy. Training in Connect Care. Experience providing education and training to a variety of stakeholders preferred. Strong communication skills and public speaking.
