PROGRAM:
Summer Juniors Program at ILSC Vancouver and North Vancouver


DURATION OF PROGRAM: 6 weeks, July 2 to August 13, 2023


ILSC Education Group is seeking an experienced, qualified, and dynamic leader to take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of our Junior and Family Camp programs at ILSC Vancouver.

Our Camp programs combine academics, accommodation, and activities for our young students ages 9 to 17.

It also involves the planning of activities for parents of our Juniors Program students who are enrolled in our Family+ Program.

The Juniors Camp Program Manager is responsible for coordinating and collaborating with these separate departments to ensure our students receive a cohesive, quality summer program experience.


In addition to this coordination, the Juniors Camp Program Manager is responsible for creating a structured, caring, and supportive environment for our young students through monitoring their attendance, performance, well-being, and general success within the program.

The role requires developed organizational skills, a high sense of responsibility, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, a willingness to take initiative and an ability to problem-solve.

This is a key management role. The Junior Camp Program Manager role is a
full-time, fixed-term position. Due to the nature of the work, your hours may vary and may be irregular.


The schedule timeline and hourly requirements are as follows:

  • Full time hours on-site at UBC will begin on June 28, 2023, and last until August 13, 202
  • Pre-program staff training at UBC will take place from June 28, 2023, to June 30, 202
  • Your weekly work schedule will consist of six consecutive days of work, followed by one full day off per week
  • Remuneration is $1050/week

Duties and Responsibilities
The job duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

Program Set-Up and Closure

Recruitment

  • In collaboration with the Director of Juniors Programs, will participate in the interviewing and hiring of the Vancouver Academics Coordinator (responsible for academics in both Downtown and North Vancouver locations), Downtown Activities Coordinator and North Vancouver Activities Coordinator positions
  • In collaboration with the Vancouver Academics Coordinator, will participate in the interviewing and hiring of the teachers for the North Vancouver program
  • In collaboration with the ILSC Vancouver Director of Studies, will participate in the planning and training of ILSC Vancouver teachers in the Downtown Juniors Summer Program
  • In collaboration with the Activity Coordinators for the North Vancouver and Downtown Juniors Summer programs, will participate in the interviewing and hiring of the activity leaders for both the Downtown Vancouver and North Vancouver Juniors Programs

Planning

  • In advance of summer program start date and, in collaboration with all departments, inventory program and curriculum materials for both ILSC Vancouver and North Vancouver Juniors Programs such as Tshirts for students and staff, Compass cards, SIM cards if required, lanyards etc.
  • Lead preparations and arrange all activity bookings for the Juniors Programs and Family Plus Programs including obtaining quotes, creating/updating reservations and managing the budgeting and invoicing of these bookings
  • In collaboration with the Director of Junior Programs, create and manage policies, procedures and support systems for the Juniors Camps and Family + programs

Program Management

  • Oversee the Academics and Activity components of the Juniors and Family + Programs
  • Lead daily communication with the Academics Coordinator and Activity Coordinators to provide support and address any issues or concerns quickly
  • In collaboration with the registrations team, prepare weekly intake lists and oversee weekly orientations for new students
  • Manage the emergency phone throughout the program, ensuring effective and prompt communication
  • Schedule weekly meetings with registrations, accommodations, activities, and academic department heads
  • Provide weekly written program status reports to Director of Juniors Programs and Director of ILSC Vancouver
  • Develop end of program report providing an overall assessment and recommendations for improvement for each Junior Program (Downtown and North Vancouver) and Family Plus Program
  • Ensure that all ILSC rules, procedures and directives are understood and adhered to in full by all Juniors Program staff and students
  • In collaboration with the Academic Coordinator and Activities Coordinators, and Department Leads, assess staff performance/success, and provide support as required
