We are currently looking for a Manager, Human Resources at our Corporate Offices in Ajax, ON

Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), the Manager, Human Resources, will be responsible for leading the business with delivery of proactive and high impact solutions to enhance the company's strong focus on integrity, compliance and organizational effectiveness.

This incumbent will be responsible for leading two direct reports (HR Business Partners), to proactively address employee relations matters, ensure training and policy adherence to legislation, manage internal integrity and compliance deliverables, and offer dedicated support to internal stakeholders as it pertains to the employee life cycle as well as workforce planning.

This incumbent will ultimately drive synergies and consistent approaches across the organization and ensure HR & legal compliance.

This is a flex hybrid model, requiring 2 days in the Ajax office

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Act as an employee relations expert, providing advice and coaching on a variety of HR and business issues, including but not limited to: performance management, dispute resolution, attendance issues, workplace harassment/discrimination claims, legal claims resolution, etc.
  • Conduct and/or coach others with thorough and objective workplace investigations as needed, ensure due process, document steps and results, recommend corrective action, and ensure appropriate followup with all stakeholders.
  • Responsible for regular internal policy review, ensuring alignment to global/regional company policies (as applicable) and adherence to applicable workplace legislation.
  • Create, amend, and enforce company policies and procedures through a strong understanding of Employment legislation in Canada as it pertains to HR (all required Provincial ESA, Human Rights, Privacy, Health and Safety, AODA), to ensure they comply with relevant employment regulations as well as company culture. Source, develop and/or facilitate leader and/or employee training to same.
  • Responsible for workforce planning, providing support to the business stakeholders on matters such as, but not limited to: team realignment, restructuring, role changes, acquisitions/divestures as necessary, future business planning, and change management.
  • Lead and deliver on HR integrity initiatives, manage internal compliance reporting/processes, and proactively identify and support any business risks; Act as the HR T4I Canadian Ambassador.
  • Required to draft detailed work plans, schedules, resource plans, and status reports pertaining to the HR T4I initiatives and work in tandem with the HR team members in fulfilling Company requirements.
  • Build partnerships with global and regional counterparts to ensure consistency in delivery of global initiatives
  • Build strong internal and external relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Participate in projects, committees, internal regional/global teams and industry groups as appropriate.
  • Liaise and coordinate with various external parties such as legal counsel, provincial ministries, etc.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree in Human Resources/Labour Relations, or a related field such as Business Administration and/or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 10+ years' HRPB experience with at least 5+ years focus on employee relations 3+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work on multiple initiatives with a high degree of success.
  • Proficiency in developing and presenting to Senior Leaders.
  • High level of organization, project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation, Human Rights, Privacy, Health and Safety, AODA.
  • Strong decisionmaking skills and business acumen.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A team player with a collaborative approach.
  • Process improvement mindset.
  • Active listening skills, ability to influence and coach others.
  • Bilingual (En/Fr) considered an asset.
