We are currently looking for a Medical Office Administration Professional, like you, to join our COVID, Cough and Flu Care Clinic team and gain valuable health care experience for your future.

Our COVID, Cough and Flu Care Clinic provides support to patients who suspect they may have COVID-19.

This role supports the department by providing administrative services in accordance with our Mission, Vision and Values of Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.


DUTIES

  • Act as a receptionist for the COVID, Cough and Flu Care Clinic and a contact person for patient and family inquiries.
  • Coordinates internal and external communication - act as a liaison for other departments, community agencies, referral sources and other health care team members.
Perform functions related to patient charts including but not limited to:

  • Process all laboratory, x-ray requisitions.
  • Schedule patient procedures, appointments, consultations and cancellations.
  • Scheduling of staff and maintaining accurate department staff schedules as directed by the Clinical Director.
  • Clerical/administrative duties including photocopying, filing, booking medical appointments & procedures, distributing departmental mail, etc.
  • Monitor orders and stock clerical supplies as needed. Other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Level One Medical Terminology. Medical Office Administration Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year comparable clerical/administrative experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in an outpatient/ambulatory clinic environment.
  • Proficient in Windows 7, Word, Excel, Outlook, Meditech, Clinical Connect and Community Wide Scheduling.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with other members of the healthcare team, patients, family members and visitors.
  • Excellent clientservice and interpersonal skills that contribute to a respectful and caring environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organize work in response to patient/departmental needs. Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to accept assignments, delegation, requests and follow instructions.

Job Types:
Part-time, Fixed term contract


Salary:
$22.12-$23.05 per hour
