    The Theatre Department at CapU is a dynamic, integrated department with three separate programs: Acting for Stage & Screen, Musical Theatre and Technical Theatre. Every year, we produce four full-scale productions on the BlueShore Centre for the Performing Arts in which students from each program perform and work as crew. We are closely connected with the Motion Picture Arts Program, where our students collaborate on films and shorts. Most instructors teach in more than one program, and we collaborate regularly to support one another's work Location North Vancouver What you'll do The Theatre Department at Capilano University is searching for an instructor to teach acting for the camera as well as various other acting styles and techniques for the Acting for Stage and Screen and Musical Theatre programs. The successful candidate will have a broad range of industry experience as an actor or director working in film/tv, auditioning for the camera, self-tapes, working on set, and a working knowledge of current industry standards. Knowledge of monologues, self-promotion for the actor, acting for the stage and directing for the stage are assets. What you'll bring
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification from an accredited college or training program. Professional experience may be considered.
  • A Masters in a relevant area is preferred.
  • Previous teaching at a University is required.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, show leadership and strong organization, be creative and reliable, and have excellent skills in collaborating and being part of a team.
