Key Responsibilities include Standards compliance.

The Manager MDRD, Misericordia ensures orientation occurs for all staff members about safe work practices, including patient safety, occupational health and safety, and infection prevention and control.

MDRD Manager maintains CSA certification, having both completed a recognized course in reprocessing and successfully passed the CSA MDRD certification exam.

MDRD Manager reviews and updates policies and procedures on a regular basis, and in response to changes in standards, regulations, laws, critical incident, adverse events, and results of internal/external audits.

Manager complies with and documents OHS compliance to ensure staff are safe in the MDRD. Manager conducts baseline and annual competency and performance reviews of staff members involved in medical device reprocessing. Manager ensures staff are provided follow-up education, training, and supervision. Manager ensures appropriate record keeping is maintained in accordance with organizational and nationally recognized standards. Human resources related activities include management of payroll, staffing needs, and requirements. This position is non-unionized.

Required Qualifications:

Certification from MDR Technical Training Course required. CSA Certification required.

Minimum three (3) years recent experience in health care management preferred with a proven track record of clinical service and leadership.

Minimum five (5) years recent clinical experience in Medical Device Reprocessing required.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree preferred. Combination of experience and education considered. Excellent skills in leadership, communication, team building, conflict resolution, facilitating group decision making, planning, prioritizing, and organizing workload.


Preferred Qualifications:

Member of the Canadian Association of Medical Device Reprocessing (CAMDR).
