The District Manager is a "hands-on" leader responsible for successfully operating, and maximizing the performance, of a group of DYMON Storage facilities.

This position will oversee three locations, Brampton, Toronto & Oshawa.


The District Manager recruits, trains, directs and mentors Managers & Store Associates, to cultivate a harmonious team approach focused on delivering exceptional guest experiences in accordance with DYMON's philosophy of service excellence.

The District Manager serves as a bridge between the Store Support Centre and storage operations, working directly in the stores with the employees to provide ongoing support and quality assurance, and serving as a back-up when necessary.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Builds teams of dedicated employees that are well trained, highly motivated and fully engaged in delivering on the DYMON brand promise; ensures that all employees receive appropriate onboarding and training; conducts quarterly and annual performance reviews for all direct reports; maintains staffing schedules and ensures optimal use of resources.
  • Monitors, measures, and validates productivity and quality of work; ensures that operations are conducted in full compliance with DYMON policies and standard operating procedures and in accordance with applicable legislation; oversees continuous compliance and quality assurance.
  • Leads each store team to achieve or exceed sales targets and business objectives established by management.
  • Promoting ancillary DYMON services such as DYMONBox, DYMONDoc, DYMONShred, DYMONVault and DYMONMoves etc.
  • Regularly inspects and monitors the condition of the equipment and premises, immediately addressing deficiencies with the Shift Managers to ensure the DYMON standard of care and cleanliness is consistently maintained; uses appropriate channels to engage corporate services for IT, communications and facilities management to correct deficiencies.
  • Reviews and signs off on all Security and Incident Reports, providing a description of corrective action and preventative measures as appropriate.
  • Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures and all applicable legal/statutory requirements including health and safety, human rights and labour standards.
  • Reviews and approves requisitions for supplies and stock; ensures that appropriate inventory levels are maintained in each store.
  • Implements processes and protocols required for the smooth launch of new facilities including overseeing the transition from Construction to Operations.
  • Undertakes quarterly mystery shops of DYMON competition and completes price comparisons for competitive self storage rental space, retail boxes and moving supplies.
  • Compiles information and submits prescribed reports to Head Office.
  • Recommends process improvements as appropriate to improve the guest experience.
  • Oversees implementation of any new products and services or the introduction of any new program or promotion.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


  • Possesses highly effective leadership, motivational and communication skills particularly in the areas of sales and customer service.
  • Familiarity with business operations; demonstrates a solid commitment to health and safety, process compliance, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
  • Possesses a proven track record of effectively managing a large team in multiple locations.
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office).

Education & Experience:


  • University or college degree in business administration, marketing, public relations or communications.
  • Minimum 5 years management experience in the retail or hospitality industry.

  • This position is based in Toronto and requires travel between multiple locations. A company vehicle may be provided.
