The House of Commons Human Resources Services is currently looking to staff the Disability Management Advisor position.


As the Disability Management Advisor, you contribute to fostering the existence of a healthy work environment that promotes the mental and physical well-being of the House of Common Administration employees, by proactively managing both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses, including medical accommodation cases.

You have strong analytical and customer service skills that ensure a safe and timely return to work while ensuring the necessary medical accommodations are in place.

Qualifications Education**:


  • A postsecondary diploma or certificate in the fields of Disability Management, Occupational health and safety, Health Sciences, Return to Work, or a related field.

Experience:


  • Experience in providing timely advice and recommendations to management pertaining to human rights, disability management and return to work, workplace accommodation, and attendance management;
  • Experience in facilitating accommodation and return to work meetings;
  • Experience in dealing with internal and external stakeholders (insurance companies);
  • Experience in developing programs and tools, analyzing data, preparing reports and recommendations
  • Experience developing and implementing workplace accommodation and return to work plans for occupational and nonoccupational illness or injuries.

Assets:

Knowledge of the Human Rights legislation and Occupational Health and Safety legislation will be considered an asset
