Position Summary:

The Sanitation Worker will be responsible for performing all cleaning and sanitizing of the equipment, machines and surrounding areas.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize the plant surrounding areas and all equipment, machine on a daily basis
Maintain and upkeep sanitation equipment and utensils including personal equipment
Work with different cleaning chemicals, detergents and sanitizers
Operate a CIP system and configurations (i.e. hose, pipe and spray ball connections)
Ensure basic cleaning functions of filling machines
Operate equipment such as scissor lift and power washer
Perform varying tasks while standing, lifting and bending for extended periods of time
Follow instructions and procedures for cleaning and sanitizing while adhering to all Health & Safety guidelines
Must be available for night shift and routinely work on the weekend (Saturdays or Sundays)
Flexible with hours of work
Other duties as assigned by Manager

Education, Experience & Competency Requirements:

Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent, and previous experience in the food/beverage industry
Food safety and sanitation knowledge
Must have strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient ability to speak, read, write and take direction in English
Mechanical and troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of GMP's, HACCP and SQF principles is preferred
Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities simultaneously in order to meet deadlines
Able to work in a fastpaced work environment and have good attention to detail
Must be flexible to work dayshift, afternoon shift and weekends
Ability to work well with other people and as a team player.
