BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Completion of Post-Secondary
  • Experience:
  • Currently the opening is afternoon shift however, ability to work any shift as well as rotating shifts and weekends is required
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms of safety, quality, and throughput
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Strong problemsolving and conflict management skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Operations, Transportation & Logistics, Supply Chain Management & Information Systems, Applied Engineering Science, Packaging Engineering, or Business Mgmt.
  • Experience:
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Safety and MP&L experience preferred
  • Knowledge of constraint management principles
  • Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook)

  • Lead and manage unionized hourly personnel
  • Develop strong working relationship with Operations and Unifor Business Partners to jointly deliver business results
  • Administer Collective Agreement provisions and Company policies
  • Facilitate crew meetings
  • Implement activities related to workforce planning, including providing direction and support in the allocation of resources (e.g., work plans / instructions, accountability, training) in order to appropriately cover material handling responsibilities, overtime and vacation administration / scheduling, etc
  • Coach Safety, Quality and Productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work
  • Create a conducive work environment for employees to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks
  • Support Continuous Improvement and coach problem resolution
  • Build employee capability, communication & recognition
  • Responsible for the daily material handling functions for the facility
  • Ensure proper material flow from receiving dock, to warehouse storage location, to the delivery of product to customers
  • Ensure flawless flow of parts through proactive planning and crossfunctional communication
  • Effectively implement the Engineering Change Process
  • Identify data gaps and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure administration of fundamental supervisory responsibilities and corresponding documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner
