    *Location*: On-site in Downtown Toronto

    *Responsibilities:


    Payroll Processing:

    • Obtain payroll information and changes in advance of deadlines.
    • Review semi-monthly basis payroll transmission information for final approval prior to executing payroll with payroll provider and backup for payroll administration
    • Verify the payroll reports from payroll provider and provide breakdown & pension reports to Financial Control Department.
    • Manage a wide variety of payroll information, files and records in written and electronic formats for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance
    • Manage payroll provider to ensure all requirements are met or exceeded
    • Identify potential tax or pay related risks, and make professional recommendations
    • Cooperate with Head of Human Resources and Administration Department on the administration of salary increases and bonus program.
    • Verify ROEs, year-end T4 summary, RL-1 summary, ON EHT filing etc. from payroll provider.
    • Prepare and process BC EHT & WorkSafe BC regular payment and year end filing
    • Prepare and provide Financial Statement related data to Financial Control Department.
    • Prepare and provide budgeting, statistical reports related to payroll and benefits.
    • Act as the back-up contact with the payroll service provider, internal & external auditors , and government bodies.
    • Prepare and provide audit reports related to payroll to internal & external auditors and government bodies.

    Annual Appraisal:

    • Participate in the formulation of the annual performance appraisal plan.
    • Participate in the completion of the previous year's performance appraisal and evaluation.
    • Review the results of the appraisal data of the entire bank's departments, branches and employees

    Other Human Resource Activities:

    • Arrange and coordinate background check for Responsible Persons.
    • Create and maintain all employee files in electronic and paper form.
    • Process the passports and work permits' applications and/or renewal of all long-term and short-term expatriates', ensure compliance with legislation.
    • Conduct and maintain expatriates' compensation and benefits.
    • Organize and complete IRCC inspections.
    • Support compensation team in company-wide training on employee compensation and teller access authorities
    • Other activities assigned by department head
    Policies & Procedures

    • Participate in the development and implementation of HR policies & processes.
    • Update, track and maintain HR related policies & processes as required by legislation and ensure compliance with legislation.
    *Requirements:

    • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written English communication skills.
    • Fluent in Chinese is an asset
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business or other quantitative disciplines.
    • Minumum 3 years of work experience in recruitment assistance or equivalentin handling payroll and pay-related programs.
    • Good knowledge of compensation and skilful at managing payroll
    • Strong skills and ability to prioritize work effectively and efficiently
    • High initiative and ability to work under pressure.
    • Strong skills in computer software, i.e., Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Ability to withhold confidential information.
    • Be accuracy, trustworthy and respectful.
    • Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity.

    Job Types:
