    Description

    Join Octopus Ink, a vibrant boutique ad agency, on a 6-month contract as our Art Director / Senior Designer. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Creative Director and Account Director to develop innovative and visually appealing designs for our diverse clients. Your expertise will drive the design process from inception to realization, shaping brand narratives across digital and print platforms.

    This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple projects and clients simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Your day-to-day will be dynamic and encompass various digital and print assets, such as website pages, logos, e-blasts, direct mail campaigns, social media ads & assets, corporate signage mock-ups, business cards, and promotional trade show collateral to name a few.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and manage the design process from initial concept to final execution, ensuring all design projects are completed within the given deadlines.
    • Working across the areas of web design, digital, print, retail and social media to create design based solutions
    • Collaborate with the account team and web developer to understand project requirements and develop design solutions that align with the brand guidelines and objectives for our clients, including digital platforms, print materials, packaging, and marketing collateral.
    • Collaborate with external vendors to ensure the successful execution of design projects, including print production
    • Manage and prioritize multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time
    • Production of logos, banners, and interfaces
    • Pitching design concepts to the creative team
    • Collaborating with the wider creative team on design aspects of creative briefs
    • Designing and developing creative and marketing concepts for digital and print production
    • Experience artworking and creating finished art for print and publication

    Qualifications

    • Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or comparable experience
    • 5-8 years of experience in a design role, preferably in a senior position
    • Strong portfolio demonstrating a diverse range of design projects and a high level of creativity
    • Solid understanding of branding principles and the ability to develop and maintain a consistent brand identity while following existing brand guidelines
    • Proven experience managing multiple design projects from concept to execution, ensuring adherence to deadlines and objectives
    • Knowledge of current design trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies, including AI image generation (Mid-Journey)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and analytically
