Capital Markets Risk Management ("CMRM") is accountable for supporting TD Securities ("TDS") and Treasury & Balance Sheet Management ("TBSM") business objectives in accordance with TD's risk appetite and regulatory expectations.

CMRM provides independent oversight of enterprise-wide market, counterparty credit and liquidity risks; ensuring all significant risks are appropriately measured, reported, analyzed and transparent.

Job Details


As the risk analyst, you will need to assess and manage financial risk for the Residential Mortgage Solutions Group business.

The primary goal is to identify, evaluate, and monitor market risks to minimize the impact of those risks on the financial performance.

This may include ensuring all analysis is complete and accurate with thorough commentary, while escalating issues in a timely manner.

You are required to demonstrate governance, control, and risk management behaviors in alignment with TD policies and practices.

It is your responsibility to ensure that execution of your function is in line with documented procedures specific to your role or business.


The position requires in-depth product knowledge in capital markets, as well as communication skills in working with other business units including Front office, Technology and Market Risk Control.

The position must impart similar skills to subordinates and provide mentoring in an environment conducive to the generation of new ideas and concepts.

Personal development opportunities, motivation, and direction are provided to subordinates and the position appraises their performance in view of job requirements and planned objectives.


Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Risk Management, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Finance or other quantitative disciplines.
  • Pursuit or completion of CFA/FRM is an asset.
  • Knowledge of financial instruments, regulations, and market risk metrics, gained through academic study, or practical experience.
  • Programming skillsets such as VBA, Python, SQL is an asset to develop, modify and continually improve the risk management infrastructure used to capture and analyze risk.
  • Good understanding of risk management, governance compliance and controls practices.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Advanced quantitative, analytic, and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to understand the impact of economic and market events on trading Risk.
  • Ability to handle pressure under hard deadlines.
  • Takes ownership and possesses an excellent attitude to see through matters escalated from endtoend.
  • Strong conceptual and strategic thinking skills, ability to see the big picture in a complex environment and identifying key risks in any process.
  • Independent thinker who takes initiative to capitalize on opportunities and achieve efficiencies with sound business judgement and acumen.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to explain confidential and complex issues as well as experience with recommending changes to management.
  • Selfstarter, works well with others with the ability to lead as necessary.
  • Preferred pervious working experience in a market risk related discipline.
