    We are seeking a Payroll Administrator who is aspiring to reach their potential in the field of construction, reporting to the People and Culture Supervisor. The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for processing weekly payroll. Integrity and strong attention to detail are crucial for this role.

    Environment

    While supporting a construction environment you will be working within an office environment. You will have the ability to work the occasional evenings and weekends. Your support may be required outside of normal work hours.

    How you will make an IMPACT

    • Assist in the preparation and administration of payroll for hourly staff on a weekly basis using the ERP system
    • Union agreements administration and ensuring payroll is executed in accordance with the agreements
    • Reconcile payroll journal entries for all assigned companies
    • Prepare and file the year-end T4s and tax slips
    • Prepare and file employee change of status documentation and update employee information using all necessary platforms
    • Prepare and file government remittances
    • Ensure that expense claims forms are filled out correctly
    • Prepare reports when requested
    • Investigate and resolve any payroll discrepancies that may arise
    • Implement wage/salary increases, bonuses, etc. in accordance with instructions given
    • Maintain records and process RRSPs and benefit contributions in accordance with applicable union agreements
    • Locate filed materials upon request, ensuring materials are given only to authorized parties
    • Adhere to all applicable federal and provincial regulations and company policies
    • Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required

    How you WOW us

    • A Degree or Diploma, preferably in business accounting, payroll, or a related field
    • 100+ employee payroll process experience in a union environment is mandatory
    • 2-5 years of relevant experience in a payroll role
    • Experience with Maestro Payroll System is an asset
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written
    • Excellent organizational, analytical skills, and detail oriented
    • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
    • Strong work ethic
    • Demonstrated commitment to Health & Safety
