RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Responsible to organize the receiving and shipment of materials, supplies and products using company trucks and outside transportation companies; contacts outside transportation companies/couriers to obtain costs and set up appointments as required/requested
  • Responsible to receive and record items received; inspects their condition and verifies them against the record of shipment; ensures data is inputted into the computer system, forwards associated paperwork and documents, generates and distributes reports as required/requested
  • Responsible to ensure orders and accompanying paperwork are complete, trucks are loaded and dispatched in an efficient and safe manner; make deliveries as required/requested
  • Responsible to supervise employees and direct work assignments, to monitor and document employee attendance, to sign off on employee time cards and time sheets
  • Responsible to participate in the Company Health and Safety Program; to undertake training as required/requested; to ensure adherence to all Health and Safety guidelines
  • To train warehouse employees and provide warehouse orientation to new employees; assists in identifying and implementing warehouse training needs
  • Responsible to open up and lockup the facility/property; to ensure warehouse facility and storage yard is maintained in a clean and orderly manner and complies with all health and safety standards; to ensure the safekeeping of the property, buildings, vehicles and products by ensuring all fire and security systems are operational
  • To investigate accidents/incidents involving vehicles, equipment and personnel, document and issue reports as required/requested
  • To participate in warehouse physical inventory counts as required/requested
  • Investigate and reply to warehouse & order inquiries as required/requested
  • Assist walk in customers at order counter
  • Operate forklift, boom truck and overhead crane as required/requested
  • Generate reports as required/requested
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a warehouse environment, preferably with supervisory experience and progressive levels of responsibility and background knowledge/experience in fire protection and/or plumbing and heating and/or industrial pipe and fittings
  • College Diploma in a related discipline
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal and negotiations/problem solving skills
  • Must be bilingual in French/English
  • High degree of accuracy with attention to detail
  • Leadership skills with ability to delegate
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Selfstarter, well organized with ability to multitask and execute a plan of action
  • Must be able to selfmanage and prioritize goals with mínimal supervision
