Description
The inventory planner responsibilities include purchasing and inventory control.
They will plan inventory, schedule manufacturing orders, and coordinate the flow of work and materials to meet delivery expectations of forecasted and actual sales while minimizing inventory levels.
The position will coordinate the shipment and logistics of all customer orders to meet customer demands and on time shipping metrics.
The planner will reflect demand changes in our planning systems (ERP and MRP) to ensure high accuracy of forecast needs and ensure accuracy in inventory records, item usage history, and forecasting files.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Purchasing
- Prepare and issue purchase orders for Resale Product, Components for Value Added Assemblies and Sample as per our SIC process.
- Assist Maintenance and set up new items. ROP, EOQ Lead Times.
- Update Purchase Order Confirmations and answer EDI error message
- Work with Customer Care and Planning to expedite orders.
- Prepare and follow up on Later Reminder Report with Suppliers regularly
- Resolve Discrepancies in ERP and with Supplier invoices
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with alternate Suppliers
Inventory Control
- Ensure that discrepancies are investigated in a timely manner
- Receiving incoming product for drop and direct delivery shipments
- Assist with Stock rotation
- Monitor and report on significant changes in sales forecasts
- Assist with Cycle counting reconciliation and yearend inventory
- Assist with Monthly KPI
- Performs other related duties as assigned by Management.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- College diploma in Supply Chain or related discipline
- Previous inventor control or purchasing experience would be an asset
- Advanced computer skills
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems
- Advanced to Proficient knowledge of MS Excel
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be available to work outside of regular hours to facilitate
- Must be able to prioritize and effectively manage multiple streams of work from various departments
- Extremely strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
