Qualifications
- completed post-secondary education in a related discipline
- a feminist analysis of sexual violence and its impact on women and children
- a commitment to working within an anti-oppressive/decolonizing framework, in particular familiarity with the issues and perspectives of our Indigenous communities
- experience working in a rural community and a thorough analysis of the issues facing community members
- demonstrated program development skills
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- excellent interpersonal skills
- strong organizational and computer skills
- the ability to respond to multi-faceted demands, to rely upon own initiative and to work with minimum supervision in a crisis centre environment
- completed post-secondary education in a related discipline
- experience in developing and monitoring volunteer programs
- experience working with and managing volunteers
- experience in volunteer training and education
- experience in team leading on the Sexual Assault Centre of Brant Crisis Line or the support line of another similar agency
- completion of the Sexual Assault Centre of Brant or a sister rape crisis centre's volunteer training would be the best asset and delivering that training would be even better*
Crisis Line Administration
- ensure crisis line shifts and covered, verify that each call dispatched is responded to within the timeframe indicated in the volunteer policies
- coordinate the scheduling of team
- leader and staff back-up shifts, ensuring all shifts are covered
- ensure pagers are available and in working order
- implement a system for the distribution and tracking of pagers
- supervise volunteers in their work on the crisis line based on the accountability process outlined in volunteer policies and procedures
- provide support, debriefing and guidance to volunteers who work on the crisis line
- develop and administer the use of call sheets, accompaniment forms, team-leader forms and statistic forms
- ensure call sheets and other relevant documents are completed, collected and statistics compiled
- liaise with the answering service re: crisis line schedule, and provide training to workers


CRISIS LINE
- respond to crisis line calls during the office day, on rotation
- in the absence of the Executive Director (during her annual vacations, during leaves etc.) provide "staff back-up", that is to say, be available by pager after hour to team leaders and on rare occasions to front line volunteers. From time to time, the "staff back-up" role shall also include assuming the role of frontline worker (eg. when both front line and team leader are on calls, or when an accompaniment is being provided by the other workers) or providing accompaniments. "Staff Back-up" shall also respond to any issue require a protocol or policy response
- complete and submit all associated documentation (ie. call sheets, accompaniment forms etc.)
- team leader shifts may be taken by Crisis Line Coordinator under the auspices of the team leader agreement, if agreed upon by both the ED and the Crisis Line Coordinator. This arrangement shall be considered only once all reasonable measures to fill that role with another staff or volunteers have been taken

$24.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
