Pinnacle Auto Group is looking for a talented individual to join its People and Culture team in the role of Human Resource Generalist.

In this role, the HR Generalist will be responsible for assisting the Auto Group with administrative and clerical functions, while growing the department and improving processes.

The HR Generalist will be supported by the Director of People and Culture in achieving organizational accomplishments. The position will be based in Kitchener-Waterloo. Some travel may be required.


Responsibilities:


  • Performs HR administrative duties, including maintaining employee files and database, communicating HR information, and processing HR reports.
  • Assists with development, implements, and updates all HR policies and procedures.
  • Applies and adheres to all employment law requirements in the jurisdictions and communities in which we operate, and employs best practices founded on common sense and experience, while working collaboratively with our external legal counsel.
  • Identifies key issues and plays an important role in supporting and driving our strategy map, including learning and development initiatives.
  • Builds onto, executes, and supports an existing performance management system which emphasizes individual goals in alignment with organizational goals, and leads change in all areas of performance management using contemporary methods and personal experience.
  • Assists in developing systems to recognize and reward individual and team performance, in alignment with overall organizational engagement methods.
  • Works with management in addressing performance issues and provides consultative and direct support as required. Acts as the point of contact for daytoday human resource issues, including overseeing performance improvement solutions, oversight of disciplinary actions and counselling staff towards successful outcomes.
  • Builds an effective onboarding program that includes an introduction to our organization's culture, internal processes, individual expectations, and job requirements.
  • Helps develop and maintain an employeetraining program.
  • Identifies key performance metrics relevant to human resource management, and promotes their use, tracking and management so that continuous improvement remains a focus.
  • Helps build and maintains the company's performance review (AMG) program and process.
  • Handles HR issues discreetly and confidentially.
  • Involved in terminations, ensuring the correct process is followed according to Employment Standards.
  • Administers and maintains the Benefits and Pension.
  • Implements and promotes team building activities on a regular basis.


Strong computer aptitude and experience with Word, Excel and PowerPoint an asset, as is relevant education in the field of HR.

$70,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
