Proudly constructing the Valley Line West LRT
The City of Edmonton selected Marigold Infrastructure Partners to design and build the 14-kilometre Valley Line West LRT project from downtown to Lewis Farms.
Marigold is a design-build joint venture agreement between Colasand Parsons.
We are currently adding Buildings Estimators to our team.
Summary:
The Senior Estimator, Buildings, will validate and verify pricing and changes from subcontractors, validate rates, and perform assessments of various costs within their assigned area.
Duties:
- Perform a quantitative evaluation of materials and manpower required for the work to be performed within their assigned scope of work
- Prepare the summary of quantities according to the plans and specifications and sorting them according to the standardized sections and functions of involved trades
- Utilize research skills at every stage of the process to identify projectspecific prices related to key items, including labour, equipment, materials
- Invite subcontractors and, when required, send documents pertaining to the work involved, as well as grant access to plans and specifications as needed
- Verify content of all amounts received from suppliers and subcontractors, as well as their compliance with bid documents upon compilation and bid closings
- Participate in and/ or coordinate with the various involved parties in the estimation of a designbuild project
- Actively encourage a learning environment, share your knowledge, and be a role model throughout the estimation process with our team.
- Possess a strong knowledge of the local industry, identifying suppliers and subcontractors that may assist with the construction project
- Review and verify submitted change orders to confirm if value and scope submitted is correct
- Assist the cost reporting division with forecasting the project
- Perform Quantity Take-Offs as required
- Verify Bills of Material and validate rates
- Identify and price changes instructed by the client for submission
- May be asked to perform budget analysis for Design Development Change Requests
- Other reasonable duties as assigned or required
Requirements:
- 4 year degree or diploma in Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited institution, or a combination of relevant education and industry experience
- 5+ years of demonstrably relevant experience in estimating and sourcing, subcontract review, and construction projects
- Strong computer skills and user of estimation software
- Proven track record of collaboration
- Knowledge of the local construction market a definite asset
- Ability to read construction schedule and assess accordingly how the schedule will affect project costs
- Ability to identify potential savings in schedule and subcontract costs

- 10 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Edmonton, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- construction estimating: 5 years (preferred)
