We have an opening for a Bookkeeper.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Bookkeeper performs a variety of accounting technician duties in support of the organization's financial management function.
What you'll do
- Review source documents such as contracts, invoices and expenses for accuracy and completeness.
- Input data from source documents into computerized accounting systems or spreadsheets.
- Prepare cheques for signing, compare cheques to source documents to ensure accuracy, and distribute cheques to staff and vendors.
- Prepare Electronic Funds Transfers for payments to staff and vendors.
- Print reports from computerized accounting systems or spreadsheets.
- Prepare and deposit cash receipts and maintain records.
- Maintain the filing system in accordance with established guidelines.
- Assist with administrative tasks.
What you bring
- Grade 12 plus a Diploma or Certificate in Accounting or Bookkeeping and at least one (1) year recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Successful completion of a criminal record check
- Class 5 driver's license and clean driver's abstract
The successful applicant will be a team player who takes on new challenges with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm.
Salary:
$25.05-$28.75 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Mission, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Education:
- Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:
- QuickBooks: 1 year (preferred)
- Bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred)
